      well i was on the phone to the guy and basically there is no sound/crackling at all. its clear. currently that site is down so i cant do much

      the tech support at sky.
      ok, the site seems to be back up - where exactly do I go in "my sky" and "service details" ? What am I looking for exactly?

      doh, its down now - but once youve logged in theres a button on the left for broadband service details, when you click on that it will take you to a page that shows you them. If line testing is in progress it will say so in the middle next to where it gives your connection details.

      lol - we got there in the end, its not dlm thats causing it then.
      The only other thing I can suggest is to check and recheck all your internal wiring, filters etc.
      I know you have said youve changed filters but just to dot the i's go over everything again.

      done that many times during the day. nothing has changed at all..... just makes no sense why its been happening everyday for the past month out of the blue.

      yep, I know what you mean, I've done the same, maybe its something at sky's end. If it is I dont think theres a hope in hell of them letting on.
      I will personally see how it goes over the next month or two, might go to O2 earlier than next January if it persists but will definetly be gone when the prices go up.

      I've been having exactly the same problem for a while now
      done everything except change the cable from where it comes into the house to the master socket and thats down for the morning.....pig sick ..........noise margin up and down like a yoyo as well......the only other thing i can see if the drop cable from the pole seems to be sagging a bit compared with all the other houses nearby.....you can see it swinging in the breeze
      anyone know the chance bt would change that cable if still dodgy after swapping internal cable for a new one
      oh and ive changed the filter,the cable to the router and even the master socket is new
      if this doesnt fix it then ****** knows

      Could these unstability problems on previously good lines be a contention issue eg new people added in your exchange ?,

      Or if someone new has been added onto the service in your exchange could the engineer have nudged/moved/changed something in there to upset the exsiting lines
