Question Who is getting the newly advertised speeds?

If you've seen an increase in your router stats for download/upload for the new speeds post your stats. Also wether you're a new or old customer.

Just curious how quickly they are changing the new speeds.

You shouldn't be on the new speeds yet as DLM has to be the one to adjust them and existing customers aren't on DLM at present (well, not many of them) - if an agent did it you may have cost them their job...

Re: Who is getting the newly advertised speeds?

i just logged a kana form letting them know i'd fixed a internal wiring issue (re-ran my extension with Cat5e) and asked them if its possible to increase my speeds or when they will be rolled out. I had the following response back:

      Hi Andrew,

Thank you for contacting Sky Help Centre.

I have read your mail, and thank you for the comments, I adjusted your line speeds upwards to reflect the current speed for your package, you are now connected and stable at 20.2 meg d/load speed and 1023kbps upload speed, these are the maximums allowed and capable for your line.

I hope this helps with your enquiry.

      Thanks

The MySky service page is showing me as an Unlimited customer, does this not mean i'm valid for the new speeds now anyway? The must have looked at my package as well from his comment in the email?

Jeez, some people are just never happy! Also sounds to me like you're gloating! Careful what you post as you'll probably find that you are currently in a minority running at that those speeds!!

I'm floundering around on 4MB and 700K and you've got a connection Speed of 20227 kbps and upload of 1023 kbps. Be very happy with what you have got!

Re: Who is getting the newly advertised speeds?

I never said i'm unhappy with what i have got? and i certainly wouldnt like to come across as gloating or cause anyone to lose a job in these times!

I started the thread to see how quickly the new speeds were being upgraded and how many of the Sky Users community had seen an increase.

I apologise if any of my posts have come across in any other way, and would be happy enough for a Mod to remove the thread if its going to cause any problems in this excellent forum.

Re: Who is getting the newly advertised speeds?

new customer (from the 22nd June) go live and enter DLM, which is set to go up to 20Mbps...existing customers will be entered into DLM during the next couple of months, and until DLM has run no one is meant to manually set lines to the new speeds...this is the process everyone is meant to follow but there are a lot of agents ignoring official process and as such risking their jobs...

on the note of fixing a setup/wiring issue - this is another time DLM is meant to be re-run...I think a lot of agents are going to be in trouble soon as no one is following the DLM processes - makes you wonder what the point of having it actually is doesn't it??

it's been stated on here that existing customers will be upgraded but some just don't seem to listen...no offence...
