      Why haven't I received my wireless router yet ?

      Hi

      We joined Sky last month, Sky HD, Sky Talk, Sky Broadband.

      Sky HD was set up first then BT came round and sorted the phone for Sky Talk and that's all working but no sign of the wireless router so we can use broadband.

      I've phoned up Sky but the foreign call center person doesn't have a clue what I'm on about and keeps offering me Sky Broadband packages which I've already signed up for. I'm a little lost and hoping for a better answer here.

      have you recieved any letters about activation date for broadband etc? If not then i'd ring up and get them to check the status of your order, i had a similar problem and turned out the broadband order hadn't been put through.

      I had to order my broadband the day after i had sky talk installed, as they need a phone number to be able to process your broadband.

      Have you logged on to MySky to track your order?

      Yea, I've just done that to see if anything comes to light and there is nothing to do with broadband in our account or in tracking orders or my packages. I guess they didn't put it through and as mentioned above, maybe they needed a BT lined phone number to process it which makes sense because we came from Virgin Media.

      Tempted to go with O2 actually. No cap and been hearing good things about them. Kinda fortunate with this issue. Leaves my options open.

      theres no cap on the "Unlimited" package assuming its available at your exchange? and will only set you back 10 a month for up to 20Mb connection (obviously depends on distance from your exchange etc)

      4-5Mbps is the max available apparently. Might even be as bad as 2Mbps so not really and option. Better provider, no caps is more ideal. I would even go Sky Base for free but 2GB a month is horrendous. 5 for Mid and 10Gb cap is decent but for 2 quid more I get unlimited and going from feedback, O2 seems the better provider at the moment.

      who quoted you the 4-5Mbps? when i rung to order mine the guy said id only get around 7Mbps so wasnt worth be going to the Max package, i had it anyway and actually get the full 16Mbps and will probably get very close to 20Mb when the new speeds are passed to existing customers
