      Got a routerstats snap of the problem. clicky clicky

      Disconnect / reconnect makes no difference, rebooting the router fixes it.

      Hi,

      I'm having the exact same issue as you all describe with regards to intermittent noise and then drops in the connection. And just for the record, i've been with Sky for over 3 years without issue.....its only started back in early June! I've still got a ticket open on this one....

      So far i've had the Openreach out twice and have had a filtered faceplate fitted + line swaps at the cabinet/exchange.

      My line is far more stable and quicker as a result. But just when i thought the changes had fixed everything, i've noticed i'm still getting intermittent noise fluctuations and eventual disconnects.

      For me, when the noise drops i.e. 9db and eventually down to 0 and then 2147483647! The connection simply drops 0 for upstream and downstream.
      When in this state, i'm finding that my router does not alway resync itself automatically? It simply stays in that state with no connection.
      I had alook at the router lights, and it would seem that the internet light is constantly lit at orange.

      Like for example, last night at 20:30 i got the exact symptoms as described and i eventually had to manually reboot the router around 01:00....So for all that time i was in this weird state and could not resync itself.

      Do you guys get the same thing?

      So far my stats are:
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 15323 kbps 766 kbps
      Line Attenuation 33 db 18 db
      Noise Margin 9 db 16 db

      More or less. I don't usually get the orange light, though having said that I was away at the weekend and when I got home it was down hard.

      What I don't get is, it's solid, stable and clean 99% of the time. RouterStats usually shows a solid 8dB SNR, then suddenly it'll plummet down to zero and stay there until I reboot the router. I'm starting to think it's a router fault.
