There seems to be something of note happening between 5 and 6 in the morning. Do you have anything timed to come on around that time, central heating boiler, water heaters for example. It looks like a REIN issue to me - ::. Kitz - REIN .::

      Re: Random disconnects concern

Nope sorry no timers, plugged in a wired phone and all sounds fine too crystal clear. Off that list i have the following:-

Electrical power supply units (Laptop, Router, LCD TV).
Digital Communication Receivers (Sky+ in living room).

Cheers for the help so far btw.

It may be something your neighbour's doing around that time, unfortunately it's notoriously difficult to track down the exact cause of rein issues. You'll have to push Sky into getting this escalated to BT Openreach who'll have to get their SFI team involved to investigate.

      Re: Random disconnects concern

this will sound odd but i don't actually have any neighbours untill about 08:30 as on one side i have the town hall and the other is hughes as i live in the centre of town. to be honest i only brought it up again due to the increase of connection speed, i beleive i should max out around the 19-20Mb mark but just found it to be really weird............

Last question, this has probably been asked many times but i couldn't find it, is there any order that the upgrade script will be run? and on the basis of my posts can i expect to see the fabled 20Mb?

Yes, you should see 20mb with that attenuation, it doesn't get much better.

      Re: Random disconnects concern

Just been snooping around the phone line and found what can only be described as a little junction box at the entry point for the phone line, any ideas?

      Re: Random disconnects concern

It is just that, a junction box where the external drop wire is connected to the internal cable.

You could open it and ensure it is clean and secure, a spray with WD40 wouldn't hurt.
