Can my line handle more speed?

Ok to get started i live about (edited>) 4 km away from the exchange (via roads) and I have had really bad problems with disconnections with Sky BB at the start because apparently my line can't really handle the awesome speeds of 1.5meg.

Sky capped me ages ago at 1meg and it was pefectly fine and had a steady noise margin of 14db. This was up until now where the db kept dropping for no reason and I kept losing connection. Now instead of listening to me or asking about the router Sky have capped me (just) at 512kbps. I also have just got rid of my wireless phone which has helped as I think that may have been interfering with the router a little. I have a noise margin of 13db at the moment and I think it's going up over time. I am sure it is not my lines fault as it is not connected to any internal wiring it just goes through the main socket. I have tried various filters, moved it around and looked at many guides on here and nothing helped.

Being that there is many topics on disconnection surrounding Sky BB I feel it may be down to the equipment or something? Also my neighbor just across the road is on AOL and gets about 2meg and has no disconnection problems whatsoever.

If anyone could just look at this and tell me what you think that would help very much. Thanks.

Oh and my crap stats:

ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 512 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 63 db 31 db
Noise Margin 13 db 13 db

@Smithy99 Faceplate is fine I have tested it from the test socket many times, it still used to disconnect. Thanks.

Re: Can my line handle more speed?

Can you post your stats please?

Also I know you only have the one socket but can you do it from the test socket also just to see if the faceplate is faulty.

With those stats you should be able to get 2mb ish. You need to ring Sky, tell them you have improved your wiring and would like your cap removed.
