As IAmNotTheEnemy has stated, you shot your self in both feet by ringing sky and them taking you off DLM. To my mind they really should not have done that.
If your line is as stable as you claim it is then highly probable DLM would have been over pretty quickly.
As i have already stated the sky guy never said i was on DLM
He stated there was an error their end.Surely with me connecting today at 6mb this may still point to me being on DLM?

I honestly believe the points i have made so far have been spot on.Coming from a solid 8mb connection(previous a 13-14mb connection on 16mb) and finding yourself 3mb on sky.Of course i am going to phone up and ask what is wrong...

Oh and i would not lie about how stable my line is.Also sky should've told me upfront or when i received my broadband welcome pack about DLM

Anyway this is the end of matter for me.If my speed goes back up to 8mb in the next couple of days then fine. But if it stays the same or even drops i am off because as i say i cannot judge the true quality of the service at the moment.Bethere have the best system were you phone them and they lower or higher your noise margin...This way the end user is complete control, which is how i felt back in 2006 when i first joined sky and could do this via the Sky Netgear DG834GT Utility version 0.4

Oh crap i feel a bit foolish now Just re-read the letter and they even point out they first connect you at 3mb.I really should read letters.Sorry about that guys

I rejoined sky for a few reasons. The offer of 12 months free line rental.SKY+HD box(my freeview picture breaks up) And lastly the broadband

Anyway off to slap myself a few times..Tho i still don't undertand why my line speed would drop today

      Re: Sky and bloody DLM!

Steve9999 patience is a virtue....you should try it I did
I upgraded to unlimited last week and was unhappy with my new speeds
I contacted sky who sent out a nice email full of checks to carry out
after I did all this I was told I was on dlm
not happy with this I contacted them again and got a nice email saying my line has been taken off dlm and is now stable at 9meg...
and if im still not happy contact them

You should try contacting sky themselves instead of ranting on here
      It does work

      hope this helps
      good luck

unless you're a new customer as DLM has to run the first time (as per process) although some have had it turned off incorrectly at the risk of an agents job...
