    Keep getting disconnected

    This is a discussion on Keep getting disconnected within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; That wouldn't affect my attenuation though would it? Thanks...

      DLM has moved you to ADSL2, this increases attenuation a little.

      Line Attenuation 18.5 db 7.7 db
      Noise Margin 8.7 db 11.0 db


      Isn't the speed a bit slow for the noise margin?

      Yes and no

      Noise can lower in certain times of the day/night so although it may seem high when you took it, it could be on the threshold later on.

      Has DLM finished on your line yet? if not that may also explain it.

      Thanks, it started yesterday.

      Also Sky said yesterday that they did a speed test on my line and it can go upto 21mbps.

      Not with that noise margin it cannot, you need to investigate why it is not higher.

      I think I've worked it out. It rained last night. Also the line crackles a bit when it rains.

      That's a job for BT or whoever you pay line rental too, do not mention broadband, just report a fault when it is raining and let them sort it from there.
