      Re: Terrible speed

im unsure if the line attenuation has got bad recently as my mother has had the sky installed and ive been on holiday. for some reason when i reboot the router it will connect at new speeds, surely it should remain the same?

      Re: Terrible speed

Can you post your stats from the test socket (see sig for details).

It would also be worth swapping the filter.

      Re: Terrible speed

If your mum has had Sky installed they would have connected the Sky box to the telephone line in some way.
Its entirely possible that the connection has not been filtered or is connected before the filter you have which is negating it.

Trace it remove it and try again.

      Re: Terrible speed

you've got a super cap on there...should get 2-3Mbps once removed...

and also proves your wiring is the fault...hence SNR going from 7ish to 30 in the test socket...

get the wiring fixed (filtered faceplate) and then Sky can re-run DLM and you should see your speed increase...

      Re: Terrible speed

once you've fixed the wiring your end they can re-do DLM, leaving the connection in your test socket isn't exactly ideal...

      Re: Terrible speed

Did you change the filter and try it in the master socket before attempting the test socket? Or is that with the original filter?
