      Looking at joining Sky Broadband

I'm with virgin at the mo but looking to go to Bt for my phone and I'm looking at Sky for the broadband.

The last time I left Sky Broadband was because I was only getting 2.5mb went to Virgin and xl pack 20mb but that costs 37 quid looking for other deals alternatives.

If I change my cabling for Sky ie adsl face plate over the Bt one and ran an extension to the modem would this be ok,what other tips/advice for a decent speed.

      Thanks in advance Neil.

Hi i noticed from your profile that you were on connect. I would ring Sky and find out if that would still be the case, because with the traffic shaping performed on this product you will see your speeds suffer at peak times badly. Rather like VM but cheaper for the pleasure

If you return to Sky make sure you get an LLU connection. You have had the pleasure of a Connect connection before so you know what to expect.

O2/BE are available at your exchange and are worth considering, both have very good reports and with the increased cost/decreased download on Mid, on Sky there is not a lot of difference in price.

Not really, many have asked for Max and have been put on Connect, I don't think the Sales people even know the difference. You have to get an assurance that you will be on an LLU connection, Base, Mid or Max. The online signup form is usually pretty good, if LLU is not available it will tell you. It is the phone signup you have to be careful about.

Oh ... we did phone sign up , but my exchange is LLU enabled. I'll be royaly ****** if they put us on connect because that is NOT what we asked or payed for. Besides the deal specificly says " MAX ". Plus we will complain , after the shoddy service with bt that'd probably push me over the edge.

Go to this page and put your phone number in, if it says you can get Base, Mid or Max, you will be OK.
