      Wired connection problems

I have bought a new computer and can connect to my router wirelessly, but would like to connect via ethernet.

When I plug ethernet cable into 1 and 2 lights work, when I plug into my PS3 or computer it won't work.

      Please help.

Yellow cable from Correct Ethernet port on your PC to one of the yellow ports on your router. Yes?

      Re: Wired connection problems

It should not matter what ethernet port you plug into. Contrary to what the 'manual' may tell you, they are all the same. If your PC is not working, I would suspect the NIC drivers. Have a look in the Device Manager for marks next to the Network card. Also have a look at the cards Network Properties, right click it and you should see 'Disable' if you see 'Enable' click it to enable it.

When you are trying to connect by ethernet, make sure the wireless connection is disabled. The PC will continue to use it if you don't and ignore the ethernet connection.

If your PS is set to obtain an IP address automatically, I don't know why it should not connect. It will not need drivers.

Both the pc and the ps connect wirelessly, when I plug the yellow cable into yellow port 1 and 2 the lights come one, When I connect to either the pc or ps using the cable, neither will work.

      Re: Wired connection problems

Have you done the checks as suggested by Isitme ?
Your not really offering us much to go on here.
"Both the pc and the ps connect wirelessly, when I plug the yellow cable into yellow port 1 and 2 the lights come one, When I connect to either the pc or ps using the cable, neither will work."

What cables do you have there?
The Yellow cable from any port on the router to your network or NIC port on your PC.
To connect to your PS you then need to connect an other cable from any port on the router to the PS port.
IS this what you are doing?

Do the lights come on when he cable is plugged in on its own, without the other end being plugged into the PC/PS?

It looks like your router may be faulty. Have you tried ports 3 and 4?
