      Broadband losing connection

My broadband has been fine for months and months, no downtime, resyncs or anything. Out of the blue about 2 weeks back it kept disconnecting and I wasnt sure why.

I kept a log of all the times it was going offline then yesterday I had a thought. I checked and it corresponds with everytime a call has been made using the home phone.

My original thought, microfilters, I have tried 3 different ones now, no luck. It's really starting to frustrate me as everytime it reconnects, download speed stays at around 400k, but my upload speed drops to about 10/15k as opposed to the 60/70k I normally get. This is a major problem for me as I do a serious amount of uploading for various websites I maintain and do video editing for.

Any ideas what could be causing the problems? Nothing has been changed with anything inside the house, so have no idea what has caused this

I'm on Sky BB max package by the way.

      Re: Broadband losing connection

What i would do, is unplug all your phones then at the master socket connect the phone and modem to each filter, let the modem sync and try the phone, just pick it up, and just keep doing that with all the filters until you find the one causing the problem and replace it.

It's done it with all the filters, left them plugged in for a few days each, the problem remains with all 3 filters

To rule out internal wiring, plug the filter into the Test socket, link below, and check it from there. If you still get the same problem it points to a fault in your external wiring or at the exchange.
