    Scared...Have I made a mistake upgrading

This is a discussion on Scared...Have I made a mistake upgrading within the Sky Broadband help forums, part of the Sky Broadband help and support category; you won't be on fastpath as Sky don't use it on any profiles on DLM , so ignore that......

BTW what is the default sky SNR is it 7db? I think DMT assume 3db Snr for 4.2mb
The router default is 6.9dbs, which is why you are not getting as much as the tool says. You are unlikely to get more than 3.5Mb.

Officially no as the setting is locked out, but if you flash with James' CU modified Sky firmware, you can. Available here -
      Community Updates for the DG834GT

It may also be possible using the DMT tool but I have never used it so I don't know for sure.

Remember if you don't have a very good line, you will get bad results, as it will keep dropping.

      Re: Scared...Have I made a mistake upgrading

okay wicked, I am going through DLM now should I be worried my connection speed is all over the place.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 3068 kbps 544 kbps
Line Attenuation 57.5 db 37.7 db
Noise Margin 8.2 db 13.5 db

i know i can get at least 796kbps upstream, and at least 3700kbps downstream. I used to sync at 4500kbps with UK Online LLU .
