      Need help or advice, Sky have trapped me

      Hi,

      Here's my story. I moved into a new flat and as i wanted Sky TV i also ordered a sky phoneline in order to get sky broadband (they asked BT to activate the line which happened after 2 weeks). I then rang Sky to order Sky broadband, they said my area coudl receive it but when they tried to put the order through their computer system an error message came up.

      Since then i have spent 2 months and at least 30 long phone calls to sky. Initially Sky said this was an error with their system that when they put the broadband order through the error message comes up and they would ask their IT dept to fix it. After 5 or 6 weeks of Sky customer services promising to phone me back (and never bothering) the situation was still the same. Same error message, same people unable to help me at Sky.

      As i need broadband to work from home i asked them to cancel my phone line so i could move to another provider. They refuse to do this as i am on a 12 month contract with them for the phone line. Eventuaslly they said i shoudl write a letter to accomplish this. I wrote that 3 weeks agao and have heard nothing.

      Can anyone tel me how to resolve this. Is there a legal way? Is there a watchdog or trading standards. I suspect they are making me wait util someone can fix it then they will order it. However i am so annoyed by this expensive and time consuming lack of customer care i don't want their service.

      Please help.....

      Well, reliance on Sky BB (if you had it) is against T&C's of service so that's a no no...

      But what they're doing is a bit dodgy...

      Write to them giving full details of your complaint.
      Dates
      Times
      anything that you have done that supports your case.

      Because the OP pays line rental to Sky so can only get Sky BB unless it's released back to BT...
