      Question G.DMT question

I've noticed that I've now been put on G.DMT. Is this an effort to give me a more stable connection, is it a good thing or not?

Also, am I likely to have my speed throttled as per connect customers?

My current stats are as follows but as previously posted by noise margin drops considerably during the evening.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 4096 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 53.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin 14.0 db 14.0 db

I have noticed that if the connection does drop or I reboot at night it always synchs at 4Mb, never drops - is this the advantage of using G.DMT on this connection rather than ADSL2?

      Re: G.DMT question

If it always syncs at 4096, with a high noise margin, this indicates your are capped. You could ask for the cap to be lifted and allow the router to find its own level, but with your large noise swing it may make your connection less stable. You could potentially get another 1+Mb, might be worth the risk. Usually if you boot at around 10 pm, it will sync at default and maintain the connection thereafter.

It will not be throttled like Connect, although it is on a slower mode, it is still an LLU connection and not subject to throttling.
