You must be one of the few that prefer the Sagem to the Netgear. If you use VPN with certain clients, you will soon discover why.

Re: Provisioned This Evening (Capped Already)

No i don't use VPN and my line has never liked the AR7 chipset never held a 6dB noise margin but a soon as i swapped to Broadcom my line never fell below 5.5 in the evenings on Plusnet 5.2/5.3mb, my other line has a 61dB loop loss and this is on o2 with a 3dB profile and its solid as a rock @4.9mb but that is ADSL2+ . Hopefully Sky will honour a switch to ADSL2+ once my DLM period is over as my line does gain 1 to 1.5 mb .

      Happy skying at the moment

I can see from my sky that my line is not being monitored , no idea why as i thought DLM would be active from the start

Line testing is not currently in progress.

DLM doesn't always start straight away especially if you're activated just before or during a weekend. Give it a few days and check again.

I doubt if it was your line, more the service it was connected to. Many found that the AR7 had difficulty on BT's ADSLMax, which you would have been on with Plusnet. This same does not apply to Sky's LLU service. There was a discussion on this on the forum a couple of years ago as Sky Connect use the same service, at least it did until recently.

From the figures you mentioned, DLM probably has started on your line, if it had not you would have synced a bit higher. The online web page is not always right up to date, I think they just do it when they have some spare time.

Maybe if you post your stats, someone will be able to tell. It is possible DLM has not started and your line has just been capped. In the past Sky allowed the line to sync at its maximum right from the start. Very often the speed could not be sustained and the user was miffed at not getting the full speed and complained, even though the line was at its maximum stable speed. Sky seem to have taken a lesson from this.

I'll pop the stats up later i'm work at the moment , and i was with Sky LLU Max with the 934G AR7 router , never liked it never worked constant drops poor browsing , but with the Sagem its a BC chip and no wobbles at all. I just think the 934 was and still is a poor router for long lines BC seems to hang on far better than the AR7 and minimal errors too.

Re: Provisioned This Evening (Capped Already)

      Stats below

Connection Speed 4096 kbps 512 kbps
Line Attenuation 51.0 db 30.5 db
Noise Margin 13.2 db 15.0 db

Looks ok i got bit more sync available there i think.

Is there any way or gatting routerstats to work with these sagem routers or any sky custom software for monitoring it more closely , i like monitoring and hate not having all the info a router can give

New customers are always now initially capped before DLM starts - 3Mb for Mid customers and 4Mb for Max. Those stats of his reflect the new starting point for Max customers.

Yes you have a bit of speed to come. Unfortunately one of the draw backs of the Sagem is that no one seems to have done anything with it. Both the Netgear routers have been 'hacked' to some extent and will run Routerstats. I think a request was being made to Routerstats to make it compatible, but I don't know if anything has come of it.
