      Also online gaming has been fine, been playing Left 4 Dead and Rock Band 2 with no problem. And yes downloading DLC is still very quick.......once it loads up!
      Thanks for trying a silver account, i knew there was more to this than just effecting everyone one on sky bb, looks like it only effects gold account and sky bb users.

      So its either something sky and MS are doing jointly or just MS.

      just tried a silver account and it does run fine.it must be something to do with the sky player they are introducing later this year

      This is to do with routing to the xbox.com website, not about silver or gold accounts, not about ps3, not about sky player and not about browsers

      I don't think this is a routing issue if it was the traceroute would not work. It is more likely traffic shaping.

      The odd thing is that with Sky and Xbox teaming up to deliver sky viewer on the xbox you would have expected the connection to improve if anything.

      Either way they will have to support the xbox soon if they are delivery content to it. In the mean time things should improve when they start testing the new xbox sky viewer and that should be very soon, you never know that might even be the problem.

      not traffic shaping as Sky don't do any on LLU...prob just a routing issue between Easynet and M$ (as said before)...

      Well the one thing we can wait for is that Xbox Live will be down for 24 hours on Tuesday 16th June for scheduled maintenance so perhaps the problem could be rectified then.

      Sorry, i think your wrong about that, there is evidence that silver account holders are able to use the marketplace without issue and gold account holders are not.

      Well if I could access my Xbox, I would be able to test the difference between Gold and Silver too. It seems to me that the problem with the website, is mainly affecting Sky customers.

      I also think the best option is to wait for the scheduled down-time.

      I think the important thing to state is that there is nothing an individual user can do to sort the problem so don't waste your time and energy trying.

      But Sky / Easynet / Microsloth will sort this out and probably sooner rather then later.

      Doing some more digging myself it looks a problem inside the msn network or int he link between that and easynet

      As you will see from a traceroute loops between hosts from hop 10 onwards, so either a routing loop or the host is down, but it eventually leaves the routing loop after 3 loops.

      This means that traffic does get between the hosts but is massively delayed. This explains the problem as we have intermittent loss of connection and slow connections.

      As the last hop before the entry into the msn network is from the New York point of presence for easynet i would suggest the problem is between this and the NY POP for msn.

      again the traceroute shows this as the latency between these two new york hosts is greater than the latency of the Atlantic link.
