Am I getting the speed I should?

      Regular Phone Socket:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2045 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 56.5 db 36.6 db
Noise Margin 7.3 db 15.5 db

      Test Socket:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2975 kbps 409 kbps
Line Attenuation 55.0 db 36.3 db
Noise Margin 12.8 db 16.5 db

The ADSL checker predicts I should be getting between 4-5mb. I think my connection is capped to 3meg, would 5 be suitable to move this cap to and would then increase my speed in the regular socket?

      Thanks.

Your internal wiring is causing serious noise on your line. You noise margin has nearly doubled in the test socket which is a good thing.

You should consider either fitting a filtered faceplate and putting the router there or removing the extensions all together by disconnecting them at the faceplate.

Re: Am I getting the speed I should?

      Results in Master Socket:

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2086 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 56.5 db 36.6 db
Noise Margin 7.1 db 15.5 db

I've done another test in the Master socket and have produced similar results to the regular socket, does this mean that the problem is in the master socket? If so what course of action would you recommend?

Thanks for the help, I really appreciate it.

Are you using the master socket with the faceplate on or the Test socket, link below.

As Smithy says, your best bet is to fit a filtered faceplate and plug the router into it.

In the test socket (faceplate off) I'm getting around 3mb and in the master (faceplate on) and secondary sockets I'm getting 2mb.

Thanks, I'll take a look at these faceplates.
