    Youtube streaming very slowly

      Folks there is a problem with the youtube connection this is being experienced WORLD WIDE this is not a problem which SKY can deal with.

      Youtube has been terrible for me for about a week and a hlaf now but its slowly been getting worse. My connect is fine with solid 1.6mb download speeds and all other websites working fine

      Guessing its youtube servers but I also found this:

      Be* Usergroup

      Probably been posted but if not here is some extra information

      Saying that Youtube has been pretty fast at work but everyone else I know have complained that it has been slow (all sky users)

      Streaming slow for me as well. It's fine for two of my friends though (one on Virgin Media, one on o2)

      They are not limiting anyone!
      This is a problem with youtube's multi home gigabit links it is not a Sky, BE, Virgin, o2, Tiscali, Orange, Aol, issue it is an internal issue which they are aware off.

      Im on VM 50Mbit and I am getting the same problem.

      Recently I have been having trouble with my Sky connection. Youtube has been slow as others have described, as well as the odd page randomly refusing to load on a variety of websites.
      According to the browser a DNS Error.

      I started using the OpenDNS servers and youtube now works perfectly, and I haven't had any trouble. If you aren't using the OpenDNS servers try them and see if it solves your problem.

      Like I said, my friend is also on VM 50Mbit and his works fine, as does my friend's who is using o2

      I'll switch to OpenDNS until it's fixed. Thanks NewDigger

      Well it isnt a problem within the Sky Broadband Domain, it is a problem with youtube as stated several times before.

      it suddenly started to work again about 30mins ago

      Looks like youtube might have sorted out the problem/rapidswitch DNS routing or something.

      Yeah, I was going to update this to suggest youtube seems fine now. *Crosses fingers*

      Regarding my slow connection - configuring with the sagem router made no difference. I'll attempt to get it escalated to BT onnet esc, but I can't really do it with my own logins if you get me, so going to be a task not even mentioning when it eventually does get to BT.
