Will I get good speeds if I upgrade?

      Hi

Just received my Sagem router and so have set up my wireless connection. These are the results of my speed test on Sky base:-

And these are my router stats

      System Up Time: 12:19:12
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 92271 158374 0 0 0 11:38:55
      LAN 15 0 0 0 0 12:19:12
      WLAN 173903 103927 0 0 0 12:18:44
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2048 kbps 416 kbps
Line Attenuation 20.0 db 12.5 db
Noise Margin 32.8 db 14.0 db

I would like to upgrade my broadband to mid or max but I was wondering what kinds of speeds I should expect, and which package would be best?
      Any Help?

easily 8Mbps on Mid, probably 16Mbps on Max...taking into account the DLM period...

Re: Will I get good speeds if I upgrade?

Thanks for your reply. I decided to switch to the Max package so I phoned up Sky on Wednesday. These are the stats form my router now

      System Up Time: 170:44:47
Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 182967 165501 0 24716 35822 0:27:11
      LAN 15 0 0 0 0 170:44:47
      WLAN 9274874 5315095 0 37322 25416 170:44:19
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 13307 kbps 966 kbps
Line Attenuation 23.5 db 11.9 db
Noise Margin 12.9 db 8.0 db

Do you think these are the speeds I should expect usually or do you think it will change?
      Thanks

Re: Will I get good speeds if I upgrade?

As IANTE has said, once the DLM process has completed you should easily see the full 16meg. Leave the router on for the duration and all should be well.
Edit - a new set of router stats rather than a speedtest ( which can be misleading ) would give a better idea.

Nice. Confirmation for those that doubt that the new speeds are being applied.
