Basically my upload speed was set too high and was reducing the bandwith on my sync speed! <<< rubbish if thats what they tell you
adsl2+ is capable of over 1mbit upload and still keep the same speeds i dont know why they use this as an excuse
they can easily set the upload to 1mbit and keep you on 16mbit , why do they say they cant ?

Yes on a line that will support it. The fact that the upstream noise margin was very low when the speed was high shows that the line could not handle the higher speed. Upload is the same as download, it is an 'up to' speed depending on what your line can handle.

Re: New Max User (DLM Started Today)

Been running a few speed tests now my line has been un-capped and I'm a little confused. Each speed test I have done I have had roughly the same stats everytime. Surely I should be getting higher stats from the speed tests as on tuesday I was hitting over 10000

      Router stats

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 16378 kbps 764 kbps
Line Attenuation 18.0 db 8.1 db
Noise Margin 8.2 db 16.5 db

Speed test sites are an unreliable way to judge your speed as too many things can effect them including wireless reception problems your end if you are using it.

You could try the SkyUser speedtest, it seems to be one of the better ones but the best way is to time a download of a large file from soneone like Microsoft.

Yes on wireless but I was reaching over 10mb the other day which is strange. I'll try the main pc and see what that is like.
