      Question Re: Sky Dumps BT

You should not have to pay the 120 re-connection charge if you return as a BT customer??

Once paying BT again for line rental, just request Sky for the MAC and your back in the "open market".

      My thoughts!

I agree with your thoughts, however if you are taking both from Sky and wish to return to BT then someone, i.e BT would have to physically change over your connection at the exchange and I doubt they would do it for free.

I think this is the same as TalkTalk, and if you wish to go back to BT you need to contact BT and request a return to donor, which BT do for free as it stand. The catch is you are then tied into at least a 12 month contract with BT retail, and you cannot as things stand migrate Broadband with a mac code, so are looking at about 10 days to 2 weeks without Broadband.

If you keep Sky BB then after your back on BT Line Rental, request the MAC? During this process Sky BB should not get disconnected as there is no "Physical" need for it to be?

I Pay the SKY line Rental and i ask a SKY Rep if i wanted to change to O2 Broadband would i have to go back to BT
he said NO you can just pay SKY your line rental all you need is the MAC Code of Sky.

i don't know if this is true being O2 state that you have to have a BT line.

Not changing anyway just wanted to know just incase i do want to change one day.

you will need to go back to BT - you could call O2 and see if an order was possible but I'd assume not...

This is true as things stand as at the moment sky rent the lines off BT, this is called wholesale line rental, but if sky are removing you from BT and putting people on there own system then having phone line and Broadband from different suppliers wont be possible. When BT openreach return the line to BT they remove anything else connected to it meaning you would lose your sky broadband as well, this is how i understand it but if anyone knows different i stand to be corrected.
