As I said I am pretty sure you are on ADSL2+, which is Sky's high speed broadband. It is not working on your line so you should phone Sky and get them to change your mode. You may then see 2-3Mbs. It is no use waiting on them changing it without contacting them, it will not happen.

Just a quick something I found aswell on exchange checker:

Line Info: Compatibility issue found. This could be several things eg. existing ADSL connection, pending ADSL order on line, ISDN, DACS, TPON, LLU, some alarm systems.

      Does this mean anything significant?

It means you already have an ADSL connection

      Re: Ridiculously slow internet.

Not rang sky as of yet.

Being completely honest, I waited for the 1st August to see if sky changed our speed as it was meant to upgrade but nothing happened and I haven't got round to ringing them up. For some reason though our line has gone a lot slower (from 0.45MB to 0.33).

Hopefully I'll get round to it today.

      Re: Ridiculously slow internet.

As "Isitme" has previously posted with the length of your line then you're more likely to see a stable connection on G.DMT rather than ADSL2+ . Were the stats you previously posted from the test socket with the short phone cable supplied with the router? or with your long extension you plug into it?

If it was with the long extension try it with the short lead and post the results. Either way you need to chase sky to look at your connection as who know when DLM may run again on your line and may even set you to adsl 2+ again

Sky's "new highspeed network" will make no difference to you or anyone on Max who is getting less than the Maximum at the moment, which probably accounts for about 95% of Sky users.

Your only hope of getting a bit more speed is to talk Sky into changing you to G.DMT. As I said earlier, they will not do this unless you ask them. They will probably say you are already on it, but don't believe them, you are on ADSL2+.

      Re: Ridiculously slow internet.

Just a quick update, been on the phone to sky and they have said they're testing our line and trying to fix it and that we should wait for upto 72 hours before we see any difference in speed.

It's been a little over 72 hours now and still recieving 0.33MB. They did say they would ring us back if they face problems.

You have been fobbed off. If you ring back you will probably find that you have to jump through all the hoops again as your ticket will be dead. Convincing them to change you back to G.DMT is your only hope of getting back to a reasonable speed. Try threatening to cancel if they don't fix it.
