      max speed now unstable

      hi guys/girls

      got sky max installed in march and was getting 7meg download speeds which i was well happy with for the first few weeks

      now i get 5meg which is a bit of a drop and my line speed is very unstable when downloadin was always a stable 5meg now it jumps from 3.2 to 5.7 to 6.9 every couple of seconds

      line stats

      from master socket
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 6137 kbps 796 kbps
      Line Attenuation 49.5 db 29.1 db
      Noise Margin 7.5 db 11.5 db

      from test socket

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
      Connection Speed 6137 kbps 796 kbps
      Line Attenuation 49.5 db 29.0 db
      Noise Margin 7.6 db 11.0 db

      any help would be great would an email to sky help my line speed also how do i get my ping score down on my gaming play the 360 online alot

      With your line attenuation of 49.5db suggests a speed of around
      6mb to 7mb broadband on an ADSL2+ service. So your not doing to bad really. With regards to getting your gaming ping's down, then you really need to ring CST and ask for them to be lowered. Bear in mind lower ping's are at a cost to your over all speed.

      i just cant understand how i got 7meg at first then down to 5meg now surley there is a cap in place ??

      Sorry forgot that bit...If your line had become unstable then maybe that is why. Best thing to do is ring Sky BB and they will sort things out for you.

      There is a chance that your Sky router has re-synced during the day when the noise is higher so to keep stability DLM has reduced the speed slightly, unless there is a fault in your internal wiring, I doubt there is anything Sky can/will do.

      Sky now start the lines low and let DLM increase them as required to stop you getting your hopes up
