      New to Sky BB Mid

I just had my Sky BB service activated yesterday and I understand that it's too early to tell what my final speeds will be, but with the following early stats what do you think I could reasonably expect, all things being equal?

I initially started off synched at 3 Mbps but this dropped to the figure below last night.

Connection Speed: 2367 kbps 256 kbps
Line Attenuation: 53.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin: 14.9 db 13.0 db

Also, am I currently on DLM because according to the Sky website under the broadband service details line testing is not currently in progress.

Those stats are saying you are connected at 23mb but that is not possible with your attenuation, i would suggest that you re-sync the router and see what the stats say then.

Apologies, that was a typo, it should read 2367 kbps. Incidentally it's now gone up to 3072.

First have you got any extensions, if so then I would now try the test socket if you have one behind the master socket faceplate. watch to see if noise margin or speed change, if speed stays the same and the noise margin goes up then you may be capped.
Also post the stats from the position you are now and also from the test socket.

Re: New to Sky BB Mid

No test socket I'm afraid and I'd rather to leave the router connected for the moment until at least the first 10 days is up.

      My current updated stats are:

Connection Speed: 3072 kbps 256 kbps
Line Attenuation: 53.0 db 31.5 db
Noise Margin: 15.7 db 14.0 db

Am I being reasonable to expect to be able to get at least a 4 mb connection speed at the end of the DLM period?

You will definately get better speeds when the training period is over, if the speed does not change a call to sky tier 1 will get a ticket opened for speed and config and CST will manually sort it.

Re: New to Sky BB Mid

that's the new start speed for Mid i think so leave the router on and it'll hopefully go up to about 5-6Mbps...
