    Losing connection throughout the day

      Losing connection throughout the day

      Had Sky Connect for a few months now with no problems....over the last week however I've been losing my internet on a regular basis sometimes it's only 10 mins but sometimes up to an hour.....now if it was only now and again I wouldn't be bothered but it's happening more than a dozen times a day from early morning right up to midnight.

      I belive it could be a router probvlem as when I lose internet on my pc my daughter also loses hers on the laptop........I noticed that when I right click on available wireless connections my sky doesn't appear on the list
      Can anyone help please

      Sounds like a wireless issue, prob high level of interference in your area (or around the router) stick all the information in a single thread and we will confer

      • PC wireless?
      • Laptop Wireless?
      • Tried Wired?
      • Stats?
      • Wireless Channel?
      • Changed Wireless Channels?
      • How Many Wireless Signals in your area?
      • Anything Metalic, magnetic etc near the router?
      • Any Error Msgs or Noticable icons on the router?

      sounds like it more likely to be an issue with the setup than the wireless, are both pc's connected wirelessly and where abouts is your router connected in the house??

      My PC is wired the laptop and notebook are wireless
      The router is on a shelf about 2 foot above the pc and connected via ethernet to pc....phoneline is directly behind the pc
      Router is a sagem(black) all relevant lights are on and I have pressed the reset button
      I have also re-run the sky installation disc,

      Can you post your router stats from the current location and also the test socket if you have one (see sig for details).

      My master socket isn't the same as the one pictured....mine looks like this

      Ok thats an adsl pre-filter plate, you should be able to undo the screws and reveal a test socket behind the plate that comes off the bottom.

      i dont think its a socket problem either, i think its a line/sky issue, the picture tango supplied indicate the internet being unavailable to the router and it taking a fit, i admit never seen this before but my bet is you may need to ring Sky and ecplain that screenshot!

      IANTE would maybe have seen this before..
