      They would still need a test socket check before escalating, plugging into the test socket and calling while connected there will bypass a lot of messing about on the tier 1 call.

      1. call after 10:30pm and just bypass tier1
      2. tell them its in the test socket cause they cant prove it anyway

      as it happens sky called me back this morning as I'd already tried to get round it before coming on here....told them I'd done the test as you'd said and that as soon as I plugged into the test socket my internet light went out on the router.....plug it back in once I'd screwed the plate back on....light comes back on.....guy that rung said he though it was a server issue and was getting in touch with BT....he'll ring me back when he gets an answer

      To me thats what it looks like, hopefully he gave you a reference number, if they dont ring you back before 10:30pm ring them

      I got a reference number from my original call to them on Tuesday.....I'm assuming as it's ongoing from that the reference no will be the same......lost it for 3 hours last night....thats a record.........
      I live in a small Welsh town called Burry port ....we have an exchange here and apparently BT are working on it to improve the serive in the area.....I get my LLU from Llanelli exchange.....5 miles away

      Your DSL connection rate: 7616 kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 kbps(UP-STREAM)
      IP profile for your line is - 6500 kbps
      Actual IP throughput achieved during the test was - 6098 kbps
      17:12 20/05/09

      but speed is nothing to do with issue - it's dropping sync, which is nothing to do with the traffic shaping...

      they are getting hit, but i think there's a more pressing issue here as opposed to being slowed down in the evenings...

      sorry steve, i agree with IANTE on this one, his net is completely droppiung out to the point the Sky router is saying its lost connection (see screenshots)

      Sounds like a wireless issue, prob high level of interference in your area (or around the router) stick all the information in a single thread and we will confer

      Ok Sky guy rang back to say an engineer would deal with problem today
      Had internet this morning but lost it again around 9.30am until 12pm....
      Sky rang back this afternoon to see if problem had been resolved.....unfortunately or fortunately however you see it I lost connection as he was on the phone.......he's referred my case to his boss who will get someone else out to see what's going on
