It is a pity you did not do another BT test after you got the speed.io result. It is possible you would have got a much higher reading, as the 'throttle' may have been released. I would be very surprised if the BT tester was under-reporting by that much.

Re: Steve's Sky Connect speedtest blog

00:20 Bt test waited the 72hrs expected profile to go back to normal but no because the line attenuation has gone higher which everyone say it cannot but if an ISP want it can OK mine went up from 55 to 57 now again 58. Could be the router could be the connection could be the wiring but it has happened before and took along time to get resolved over 6months so here we go again I was promised it would never happen again they put a tag on my connection saying to leave alone well someone cannot read or someone has just ignored it as before

Re: Steve's Sky Connect speedtest blog

Steve...Sky cannot 'tag' the line...BT's DLM runs 24/7 and if it sees an issue it'll drop IP profile...once sorted it'll go up again...Sky won't do anything about it so don't waste your breath...

now, does 500kbps matter? it's barely an extra couple of seconds on a download!!

Re: Steve's Sky Connect speedtest blog

I know but the last time this happened it went another 500kbps then again another 500kbps until it showed IP Profile for your line is1500kbps and no one would listen until I got someone who was looking in to this as a small problem at Sky he got everything back to original settings and said he would tag my line so he could monitor it as far as I am aware I was not the only one. This happened about the time I joined Skyuser thats is also how I know Sky staff are avid readers on this site. The problem is I only go onto Skyuser forum and what ever update for my system and security thats it. that is all I ever do

Re: Steve's Sky Connect speedtest blog

02:56 15/06/09 still been doing test Bt seem to be the one that is the most erratic but then again if the amount of users from different ISP`s run tests then you can understand why you have to wait 3hrs between tests I think Bt could do with a new update version

Speed.io as below lowest ever ping and highest upload so is something happening or is everyone asleep, Speeds have not been bad on average about 2.1Mbs if attenuation was rectified the average would be a lot better so I think a is called for
