      Opinion on my stats, improvisations?

      Hi all,
Recently I bought myself a Draytek Vigor 2820n Router, pretty advanced I must say. Anyway, after a few days of tweaking and getting the settings I want, and also buying 'shielded' telephone cable, I noticed two things:
      - My line attenuation dropped from 45dB to 43dB (due to the shielded cable)
      - My router seems to remain stable at an SNR of, wait for it, 3dB !?

      Stats are below:
      Code:

Do you think there's room for improvement? Any suggestions would be appreciated. I'm quite amazed at how well the connection is coping as compared to the Netgear DG834GT supplied by Sky (which drops at 6-7dB usually).

Speed tests from speedtest.net also show a steady 6.3mbit/sec IN and 0.6mbit/sec OUT.

No extensions, connected to the test socket. I was wondering if I should dare to try and ring Sky to see if I can tryout ADSL2 or ADSL2+, as I notice on the 'line attenuation graph' that I have seen on the internet, there's room for at least a 1mbit improvement, but I don't know if A) Sky will let me try it, or B) If the line will become unstable as a result. I have read some people managed to use ADSL2+ fine, where others had tried ADSL2+ and found it unstable, but ADSL2 was fine instead.

Sky seem to be moving lines over to ADSL2+, so just wait and you will be transferred. Don't be surprised if you speed drops.

Fair enough, thanks for your replies, and yes I understand that I wouldn't get very far with phoning Sky with that router plugged in, even with the same MAC address for the ADSL port as the previous router had. I would've plugged the old router back in temporarily if I was to phone them. I'll take your advice and wait.
