      Speeds Suddenly dropped?

This is my first major run in with Sky, before I start, it should be noted I had similar problems every Saturday for about 3 weeks last month all around 10pm but even worse.

I'm currently on Sky Max package and my line can support 3mb, but in the last few days it's suddenly dropped and I was getting below dial-up speeds. Recently it's slowly gotten better, but in comparison to what I'm meant to be getting and have been getting for the last year I've had Sky it's pretty bad. Previous tests on Speedtest gave me around 2.5mb speed, I've done a recent one and here is the results :

I also have some router stastics if needed, I haven't made a note of what they were before this problem started so I can't tell what is normal and what isn't.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2624 kbps 448 kbps
Line Attenuation 32.0 db 16.5 db
Noise Margin 10.7 db 20.0 db

Anyone offer a solution to fix this problem?

      Thanks.

One question, are you on wireless or ethernet as your stats are showing a 2Mb+ synch.

Your stats also suggest you are actually on Sky Connect

      Re: Speeds Suddenly dropped?

I tried the Speedtest again and the ping has dropped quite a bit.

The speeds seem to fluctuate wildly, with the connection sometimes dropping completely. I've restarted my router a few times and reset the factory settings, but it doesn't appear to have any affect on things.

      Re: Speeds Suddenly dropped?

I'm currently on wireless at the moment on my laptop and I'm almost certain I signed up to Sky Max package, but as I live out in the sticks in Northern Ireland, my line currently only supports 3mb.

A final speedtest done with Ethernet.

I've never had these slow speeds before and the router seems to connected to the internet just fine. I'm not sure what to do.

      Re: Speeds Suddenly dropped?

Your exchange, Killinchy, is not enabled for Sky, so you are definitely on Connect.

      Re: Speeds Suddenly dropped?

Ah, so what differences to my internet connection would that imply? Could it be possible maintenance work or something to blame for my internet speeds, as as I've said before, I never experienced speeds this bad on Sky for such a long time. Beforehand it would have lasted an hour at the most.

      Re: Speeds Suddenly dropped?

You have quite a reasonable attenuation and should get the full 8Mb available to you. You have got faults on your line somewhere. Lets do some basic trouble-shooting. First plug into your Test socket, link below, if you have one, and take your stats from there and post them here.
