      SKY just dropped out?

      Hi all,

Anyone had their broadband drop out for ten minutes or so tonight around 9PM? I noticed all my various favourite pages were loading slower and slower untill it just stopped, my router screen was displaying a message that the connection had failed (downstream and upstream figures still normal) It was like the net just died for a while

Seems ok now again now though, anyone know what happened?

My broadband also cut out and my router displayed the same as yours. Maybe it was a local problem.

Happened again here for a few minutes just after 1am Friday morning. No connection! Router Status shows 'UP' with good downstream/upstream rates

      What's happening?

Same here. Since I moved over to Sky Broadband I find it far less reliable than BT. I find that it helps if I reset the router twice a day.

likely to be maintenance work - wouldn't worry about it...

      Re: SKY just dropped out?

I have had something similar happen to me two or three times in the last week, it happend at around 8:30pm just as I logged into X-Box live

Seems to sort itself after an hour or so.

When I log into the router everything looks fine but when I reboot I cannot get an IP address and the logs just show LCP is allowed to come up.

Eventually it all comes back on again, I also suspect they are doing a bit of maintenance.

      Re: SKY just dropped out?

Just happened again on the West Kirby exchange 0151 625. Out for 20 minutes. It also dropped out on Monday evening about 6pm. I've also been having a lot of 'lost' packets and pings have been bad.

      Re: SKY just dropped out?

Ok lost it again in the Irby exchange on the Wirral, went at 4ish and back 5:30ish. No problems with lost packets etc just drops out, no warning.

Not the end of the world, they have to do maintenance at times I suppose.
