Query Re: Mac codes and Line clearance....

Just wondering if anyone can enlighten me on the following really...

Basically, my housemate is moving out May 1st and taking her Sky broadband with her, i have called and set up Sky including broadband when she leaves, im keeping the same number as the line rental is in my name.
Do i need a MAC code from her to give to Sky or will there be a seemless crossover. One of the guys at Sky advises it could take upto 30 days, can anyone give me a head up on what the deal is please? many thanks.

If she has cancelled Sky - then I think (although could be wrong) it would be classed as a new provide on your telephone number. In which case, you would need the Sky tag on your phone number to drop off the database at which point you would then be able to order the broadband side of things.

If she is migrating the broadband to her new address, I think it would still be classed as a new install of broadband on your number. As you in effect are ordering it without migrating so to speak.

Normally it can take a few days from the disconnection / migration date for the tag to disappear, and then up to 10 days for the connection of the broadband.
