      Re: netstat results for sky?

Firefox can have several connections open to the same page, if you have a couple of tabs open you can often see 10-15 connections. Unfortunately nobody has told Sky about this, they are still working on what you would get with a dial up connection. As an example, at the moment I have one IE page open to Sky.com and one Firefox page open here, at Skyuser. I have about 10 established connections to my AV update alone, which makes a nonsense of Sky's procedure. They really need to stop fobbing people off with this excuse.

At least i now know that i dont have a virus problem thanks to you guys. I will leave it a while before ringing sky again as they seem to have sorted the line if only for a while. Next time i will tell them i only have three things showing on netstat, might get passed to cst then and can get it sorted properly. Thanks for the help.

Have you ran Bt Performance Tester-Connect Customers as Isitme said the one below. With connect that is all Sky CST will take notice of

      Re: netstat results for sky?

I have tried the bt speedtest site and it can give quite good results sometimes. I had a similar problem when i had virgin bb. It gradually slowed off and when i did the tests on the bt site i logged in as my user name and it used virgins line in the exchange and the results were bad, did it with a bt login name and the results were excellent. It proved there was a problem with Virgins line and the guy on the phone couldnt come up with any excuse for it, it just proved it was virgin and not me or bt. I dont see how i can get it downloading at 2mb one day then only 50kbs the next, even at similar times of the day.

      Re: netstat results for sky?

Hi Kev That is traffic management by Sky or that is what they say. some times during peak periods and none peak periods you will get good speeds I think the problem is connect is being oversold and affecting every connect Customer I think that is why they say 5pm to 12midnight traffic managed so if you get throttled Sky can say it was traffic management.

I dont see how i can get it downloading at 2mb one day then only 50kbs the next, even at similar times of the day.
