      Re: Joining on Thursday

You still seem to be with your old ISP. You appear to be on G.dmt which limits your speed to 8Mb. With Sky you should be on ADSL2+, with a possibility of 16Mb on Max. There could be a bit of difference as different routers 'read' lines in different ways, you will not know for sure until you are connected to Sky with their router.
If you do not have any phone extensions, there is no advantage in using a filtered faceplate, except for the appearance.

Right then - my stats on day 1 of sky BB, through the netgear:

Port Status TxPkts RxPkts Collisions Tx B/s Rx B/s Up Time
      WAN PPPoA 2266 2821 0 0 0 15:22:15
      LAN 3124 2647 0 0 0 15:23:05
      WLAN 0 0 0 0 0 15:22:37

      Re: Joining on Thursday

You are looking very good. Even if DLM drops you you should get it back up again as you have quite a good noise margin. Just remember to keep plugged in and powered up so you do not give DLM an excuse to cap you.

      Re: Joining on Thursday

Well until I messed around with the route last time, I was on something like 766 hours uptime. So here's to many happy years with sky BB, or at least lets get through the next 10 days without too much hassle anyway!

Just got to wait another 10-12 weeks for the Sky HD and I'm done, short of the gas and electric, sky pretty much own me!!

That noise margin is very good, you just need to ring sky and get through to CST ring about 10.30pm best time to get through and ask them to increase your connection speed.
I also see you have been through DLM by you upstream of 796kbps, so ring them like i said.

      Re: Joining on Thursday

As expected DLM has started on your line, give it a few days to settle and if it does not go back up to your previous speed, phone Sky to have it manually configured. If you phone now you will probably be told you have to wait until DLM finished training your line. A complete waste of time in my opinion, but it is what Sky do.

@Andy17 If you read the thread you will see DLM has just started on the line
