remote access to Router - how does it work?

      Hi all,

Can somebody help me with this little problem?

I have a new Sky router (Sagem 2504) and try to access it from my company. However I have no access to it so far

What I have tried so far is:

      1) Create a DynDNS account. When logging in to DynDns.org, I get the correct public IP address back
      2) using the IP / .dyndns.org address in the Browser windows (with/without :80) and have no access - Page stops loading
      3) Tried to add a firewall rule for all Services: all, Action: allow always, Send to LAN serer: 192.168.0.1, WAN users: any -- I left everything open for testing purpose, but still don't have access

Strangely I can access the router via the public IP / .DynDns.org address within my LAN, but once I leave my LAN and try it from the WAN it stops working

Also not sure if that has to do with it, but under the section "Advanced", where you also find the DMZ options, but further on the right side, it says something with "Remote ...". This menu has a tickbox to be ticket. However on my router I cant tick it, as it seems to be grayed out?!? Is there any other way I can activate it, or has it nothing to do with it?

      Many thanks for your help,

      Chris

This is Remote Management which allows remote connection to the router settings. The V2 routers may have it disabled by default, which is a good thing as it can be a security risk. It is not required for VPN.

Many have had problems setting up VPN with the Sagem.
