      Is this ok, or should I ask to increase?

      Connection Speed 11488 kbps 696 kbps
      Line Attenuation 36 db 21 db
      Noise Margin 5 db 10 db

      I asked them for 12mb and seems ok, no problems.

      Thanks guys, just making sure after my first month. and 10 days of dlm.

      You don't have 12mb and with what you have the NM is too low and the line is liable to become unstable.

      You would be better getting capped at 10.5 or 11mb to sort this out. Sky'd target NM is 6.9db.

      You might have to ask them to bring it down a bit as Smithy says, but I would leave it for the time being. Just re-boot during a noisy time and it should re-sync with a higher noise margin and slightly lower speed.

      Will leave it for now, as this is the first time I have had a stable connection.

      It seems to run ok on 12mb, even though you are prob right, I should only be about 10mb.

      But hey thats me being greedy...

      Eeking our extra speed is ok as long as you realise the possibility of drop outs is there. If you want stability you need to cap down slightly.

      Unless there are very large fluctuations in the line noise, capping should not be necessary. The router should be able to handle differences in the line noise. With the present router firmware this works very well.
