      Sky Internet Connection Dropping

      Hello all.

I'm having a problem with my Netgear V2 DG934G router.

When on the internet the connection seems to drop allot.
Sometimes the globe which tells me i'm connected to the internet disapears & comes back & other times the globe does not disapear.

You can also see that the connection drops, because when i'm using BitTorrent the speed chart decreases back to 0. Also when I use DC++ the download pauses & the speed drops right the way down to 0.

No matter how many computeres are connection to the router it still does the same thing - It's getting on my nerves now. Does this happen for anyone else? Would anyone know what the problem could be please?

      Any help will be appreciated.

      Thank you very much.

Post your stats from your normal position and from the Test socket. You are sure it is the router dropping its connection and not just the wireless, if you are using wireless.

As Isitme and Smithy99 have ask for.
Open the Status page of the router which is http://192.168.0.1, user name admin, password sky.
on maintenance page click on show statistics and copy and paste to this thread so they will be able to help you

Now from the Test socket please. Copy and paste the stats, don't go to the bother of uploading images. Apart from being easier, stats that are copied and pasted remain in the post, images uploaded to imageshack eventually disappear and leave the link dead

Ok to test at the socket, it would be done from these type of sockets?

I don't have the test bit on my socket.
How else would I do this?

      Re: Sky Internet Connection Dropping

If you have the older type master socket, without a test socket all you can do is unplug everything you have plugged into other extensions and take it from the master socket. If you have extensions hardwired to the master socket, remove the front of it and pull the wire off the number 3 terminal. This is the ring wire and is not required. Try a before and after from the master to see if it has made any difference.
