    Forgoten Username and Password

      Forgoten Username and Password

      I've forgoten my Username and password for my router connection and cant use the wirless to acess the net..

      i use a Gigabyte WLan addapter.

      can anyone help me with this?

      if you haven't changed it on the router the username is admin and password is sky. If you have changed it you will have to hard reset the router (hold reset button in till lights on front flash) to get it back to defaults.

      ok..and one quick question..do i need to have the User name and Password to browse the Net or is it just for the stats..

      and

      where can i find the WEP key??

      if you're using the Sky router, no as they're hard coded into the router...

      and the wireless key is under the settings menu - default is WPA (the network key on the bottom of the router)...

      Wireless info is found by clicking the link called "Setup" at the top left of the router page when it logs in. "Wireless settings" link if using the white V1.

      just one problem..i haven't got the CD..my mum does..and see wont give it to me.

      humm..so your saying is;

      all i have to do is install the wirless drivers
      enter the WEp key

      and i on the net?

      The CD does nothing except install Macafee if you want it or update IE if needed.

      If the router has the relevent lights green on it (power, wireless and internet lights) then all you need to do is configure the wireless adapter to connect to the router and it'll work - although if you need a WEP key you'll have to reconfigure the router to WEP as it's WPA by default...

      other than that, yes!
