      Mid to Max Again

Upgraded from mid to max and have not seen the speeds i was hoping for. stats here as follows (whilst attached to the test socket)

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 5820 kbps 766 kbps
Line Attenuation 44.5 db 23.3 db
Noise Margin 7.2 db 12.0 db

After a extreme amount of time on hold to sky i got a ticket no. and put through to tier 2 support where after a min or two they they said my line would be unstable if they set the cap any higher than 6 meg can anyone confirm thst's the case?

      Re: Mid to Max Again

You should see around 7mb with your attenuation on a good line. Your noise margin is around the Sky minimum of 6.9db so you cannot go any higher with your current setup.

You should investigate your internal wiring and try getting the stats again from the test socket (see sig below).

remove all other devices if you have no test socket if still no change , try swapping dsl cable , but should be advised moving to mid to max package doesnt really change anyone speeds unless adsl 2 is availble and stable on thier line

      Re: Mid to Max Again

If your speed on Mid was much below 8Mb, you are not going to see much improvement in speed. Your upload speed looks a bit strange, you may have line problems. Plug into the Test socket if you have one, see if there is an improvement.
