Got activated yesterday, but today summin aint right..

      Hi All.

Got activated yesterday on MAX package and was synched at 12meg ish. Did a few test on speeds and downloads and connection was looking healthy.

Got home today and noticed something was not right with speeds. I was only doanloading at 760kps so i checked my synch speed and it is as below.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7611 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 30 db 16 db
Noise Margin 14 db 11 db

this is connected directly into the master socket with no ring wire. the thing is no matter how many times i resynch it always synchs at this exact speed.

I know my line can handle more usually around 12 meg with my stats. Im below 1km from the exchange.

could this be sky capping me? even when i ordered sky guy was blabbin on how i would at least get around 12 and at my old flat on adsl2 with another provider and worse stats i got just over 8meg.

Also as i have the black netgear router how can i tell if im on adsl2 or normal adsl.

im hoping this is just 10 day teething problems but i would be peed off if sky cap me at 8 meg when my line can handle alot more..

      any advice?

Yes i would do that, leave the router alone for if it is dlm that is responsible, resyncing it repeatedly will make things worse. Its not a 10 day process, that just applies to the connect package, tho I think 10 days is enough to allow things to settle down.
