Hmm, yeah sometimes newer does not always mean better! So how would I find out if my line is ADSL or ADSL2+? Is it just a case of calling them?
My stats are almost identical to blythy but I was hoping that I would be able to connect at nearer 16mb as I am 896M from my exchange and it seems pretty much up to date, even has 21CN.

You would be better starting your own thread, posting your stats from the router, asking advice.

Do you have any extensions? If you do, they have been incorrectly connected. You do appear to be getting a better result from the Test socket, but not as good as it should be. Your Max rate should be higher than 9536, as a comparison, here is mine -
      SNR (dB): 8.9 21.5
      Attn(dB): 39.0 22.6
      Pwr(dBm): 21.5 8.2
      Max(Kbps): 10576 516
      Rate (Kbps): 8191 412
With your much lower attenuation you should be a good bit higher. This suggests a line fault.

If you don't have extensions wired to the Master socket, I am not sure what to suggest, you could try phoning Sky and see if they will move you to ADSL2+. You should get a bit more with your present stats, but with a good line you could get 12-13Mb. Tier 1 will not be able to do anything, you will have to get passed to CST.

If you do have extensions, hold off phoning and post back.

Re: Upgraded from Mid to Max...Very little difference, if any!

That's the only socket we have, apart from the NTL phone socket from when NTL provided our phone service. But I'm assuming that was through the cable rather than the phone line, correct me if I'm wrong? Just checked my stats again and my max value has gone down to 9152 still in test socket

What should I ask for when I phone sky? If I'm not exactly sure what I'm asking it's pretty easy for me to get fobbed off lol. Can I check to see if ADSL2+ is available first to save embarrassment, or is that blatantly obvious in those stats somewhere?

The biggest hurdle is getting past Tier 1, if you can do that then CST will be able to help. All you can do is ask Tier 1 to increase your speed, when they say they can't as they probably will, ask politely to be put through to CST as you believe you are on the wrong mode. Be plugged into the Test socket when you phone, preferably after 10.30pm.

ADSL2+ will be available, it is not separate from what you have, just a different mode.

Just for your information I called and just asked to be put on ASDL2+, the person did it straight away and my connection speed went up from 7933 to 9213... still not satisfied, but that's just me.

Post your stats now that sky have changed you to ADSL2+, to see if you can improve them any more.

Wam7 has posted them in his own thread - What is preventing me at connecting at ~16000kbps?
