      stats check

hi can someone cast there eye over my stats it a mid connection, sky said i could only get about 6meg but im only getting 3069 and 412 up,

      3069 kbps 412 kbps
Line Attenuation 51 db 31 db
Noise Margin 14 db 25 db
      pinged bbc.co.uk =24ms

thats straight into my main bt socket, and laptop using ethernet cable, ive just moved and was getting 8 on mid at my old addy, which i know is good , i maybe a little further from the exchange at new address,i did phone sky last time saying my ping was to high and got through to tier 3 eventually,i was goin to ring again but am worried about this 10 day DLM thing as ive moved router a couple of times whilst waiting for some cabling to set it up permanently
ps i have the black netgear router the one thats like a little HD box.

      Re: stats check

It looks like you may be capped. Only Sky CST(there is no Tier 3 now) can fix it. You might be on DLM but I think you may just have been moved to ADSL2+.

      Re: stats check

You stand a better chance of getting through to CST if you ring after 10:30pm.

      Re: stats check

ADSL2+ is good, in that on a good line it can double the speed, but in your case with a fairly long line it may actually slow your connection down.

You can try to get through to CST to see if they will do anything, but if DLM is running they may be reluctant to make any changes. It is sometimes difficult to get past Tier 1, calling late, after 10.30pm is supposed to be the best time. Given your present speed and noise margin you should be able to get 5-6Mb.

If you have been switching your router off frequently, maybe you should give it a few days to settle before you phone.

If your line is capped then you will see no speed increase but the noise margine should rise, this will then indicate that you can support more speed when the cap is removed.

You need to post your new stats again and ring Sky (after 10:30pm may be best to get to CST).

You are capped, ring CST after 10:30pm and ask for it to be removed, you should see around 5-6mb.
