      DLM 10 days Cancel 8 days ??

      Hello,

      Got connected today and.....

      Well a bit slow..

This DLM thingy can it switch you between adsl and adsl2+ ?
as seem to be on adsl

Just come from o2... yes Don't ask !!

So I know my line supports 12 - 14 meg as thats what I was getting for just over a year.

Stats for those that want them..

      Connection Speed : 7616 kbps 768 kbps
      Line Attenuation : 30 db 17 db
      Noise Margin : 12 db 13 db

Now the way I see it I can cancel within 8 days yet the DLM runs for at least 10...
The covering letter I got said my line supports upto 5 meg... lol
      Good old BT

      So what to do ?

      Call them ?

Wait a few more days ?

Or just get out like quick smart ?

      Thx

yes you're on gdmt, and yes you're capped...question is why?

how are you set up? as DLM won't cap a line if it doesn't see something wrong...

and there's nothing stopping you calling tech now to get the line speed sorted, once you're internal wiring is done, and then they can re-run DLM with the correct setup...

I think you are mixed up somewhere, DLM was not running on your line. If you had given it a chance to run you could have had 14-16Mb. Your line had been set on G.DMT which automatically caps your speed, a move to ADSL2+ would have seen the speed rise considerably. A simple phone call could have sorted it out. If you want better than that, then you are going to have to get Virgins highspeed fibre.

      Hello,

Mixed up me ? lol yeah to much playing dod, and l4d online

I know what you are saying..

This is a spare line I have,I have o2 on the other at a very cheap rate..

The thing with me is that I signed up for "Max" and got put staight on to "Mid" profile without the limits as such..

So why should I call them ?

It costs them money to put me online, I am not spending my money on the phone to get them to change me to ADSL2+ which I should have been tried on first.

I have put an email in first to see if they will change it without a need for a call.

      If they don't I'm off.

Thanks again and I'm not by any means shouting off at you.

Just want what I would pay for without having to spend more money in the process to get it.

OK, time to clear a few thing up...

IF, going by BT's estimates, your line won't apparently give more than 8Mbps your line will be set to 8Mbps/gdmt but with the correct upstream...you'll still be on DLM, though...

seriously, you're leaving when it would take one (hopefully) phone call to get you switched to adsl2+ and the line uncapped...

fair enuff if you're canceling, but i think you're making a mistake...

      Hello mad me again....

Well didn't call them just put in for a cancelation..

Haven't heard owt but stats have changed...

      Now..
      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 7611 kbps 796 kbps
Line Attenuation 32 db 18 db
Noise Margin 17 db 17 db

Now the higher up stream may indicate that I'm on adsl2+ ?

      but who knows..

      6 days left

the upstream sync speed was fine before, it's actually gone up due to DLM, and yes you're now on adsl2+...

still capped though, call tech and you get into the teens i'd imagine...
