Am I speed capped or not ?

Hi, Could someone just confirm wether my downstream connection looks capped or not please ?
On Skymax with 3.8km physical line ( BT Engineer tested )
      Netgear v2 DG934G Firmware/ADSL Firmware V2.02.44 / 7.03.01.66
Connected to test socket on master with ADSLNation XF-1e filter with wired
      connection to PC.

      ADSL Link Downstream Upstream
Connection Speed 2560 kbps 768 kbps
Line Attenuation 50 db 29 db
Noise Margin 11 db 11 db

Sky tech support insist this is as fast as the line will support without going unstable.
I'm sure it's capped and they are very reluctant to remove it !
I'm sure just over a year ago I was running 3400k downstream with Zen Internet and BT Openreach
have improved my line since then as they did something at the street cabinet which dropped my line
      attenuation at least 3db !

      Many thanks.

Re: Am I speed capped or not ?

      Ok, Thanks.
Slightly off topic, do you know if regrading down to Mid or Base from Max means another 12 month
contract or will it continue to be monthly ? ( 12 month Sky Max contract expired end of Feb 2009 )
Is regrading classed as a new connection and is DLM run as result ?
If DLM doesn't kick in soon and improve things, I might as well save some money per month if I can't
      get much above about 2.5mbps.
      ( I don't download more than 2-3Gb per month anyway )

      Thanks

Re: Am I speed capped or not ?

The speed of Mid is well over what you will get anyway, the only thing Max has that would benefit customer with stats like yours is the unlimited download, as you don't do that much you may as well re-grade/.

Re: Am I speed capped or not ?

      That's what I was thinking.
Do you have any idea about the length of a re-grading contract and wether DLM will be run if I regrade ?
      Thanks

The T & Cs(as usual) are not very clear on this, they do say you have to enter into a new contract but not for how long, it could be argued that "a new Sky Broadband subscription contract", indicates 12 months -
      (i) Unless we agree otherwise, you cannot change your chosen Product unless Conditions 1(f), 5(b) or 7(a) apply. If, after your Minimum Term, you wish to change to another Product, you must end this Contract and enter into a new Sky Broadband subscription contract unless the circumstances set out in Conditions 1(f) and 7(a) apply.
I doubt if DLM will be put back training on your line if it has already run, but with Sky, who can really say.

Re: Am I speed capped or not ?

      Thanks for this info.
Looks like the best option is stay as I am until Sky decide to run DLM for all users, as I'm not keen on 12 month contracts...
If it improves things, great, if not, as least I'm not tied to another 12 month contract and it leaves me with options...

Re: Am I speed capped or not ?

DLM will never improve your line, certainly to to exceed the speed of Mid. At the very best you may get 1mb but you would get that on Mid anyway.

Why don't you ask to downgrade as the speed is so poor anyway and ask about the contract?
