      been a bit apprehensive about this, but...

      son has been complaining (well, moaning) about his ps3's connectivity, so.
      now using my netgear 834pn.
      see if it shuts him up

      Don't worry we won't tell Sky.

      Just remember the risks, but we ain't here to tell you what to do, that's your decision, although if it helps, no-one has been kicked off for using their own router..

      If it sorts it then cool

      yes, have been lurking here for quite a while.
      and, yes, do understand the risks. and realise why they need standard equipment!
      but, i'm not a complete novice, and if things go up the way, that's my problem

      just remember that if you ever have to phone sky regarding your connection... you plug your sky router back in..... just to be on the safe side.
