Question Sky Sagem Router Woes !!!!

      Hi All,

This is my first posting here and I'd apprecaite any advise on this. Basically on Monday I went away on holiday for a few days however on the Monday morning my Sky supplied Sagem router was working perfectly and I could use the internet fine, I returned home yesterday (Friday afternoon) to find my internet connection wasn't working, when I opened up my browser, worse still my router wasn't even appearing as a Wireless network that I could connect to and it was as if as far as my computer was concerned the router simply wasn't there.

So figuring a quick power off/power on of the router would do the trick I tried it, and noticed on the router when I initally turn it on a green light appears instantly below the tick symbel and a red light appears under the @ symbel (all other lights are off). The router then stays like this for a few mins and eventually the red light disappears and the power light on the router comes on, I then can see the router wirelessly for a few seconds before it disappears again, at no point though do I get an internet connection. Figuring I was getting nowhere fast I stuck a pen in the reset button for 10 seconds to try and force a reset of the router, again the same set of lights initally appear and after a few mins I can briefly see the router for a few seconds before it disappears again at this point a combination of the first 3 light from the left are coming on/off and the combination seems to change every few seconds..

So wondering what the hell was going on, I disconnected it from the phone line and connected it via RJ45 (Ethernet Connection) to my computer to see what was going on, despite being disconnected from the phoe line the same red light comes on on the @ symbel. Eventually I can get access to the routers setup and it reports the ADSL link is down, whether its connected to the phone line or not and it never picks up a WAN IP or gets onto the internet.

The firmware version of the router reads as 1.9Sky and I was considering trying to upgrade the firmware (if one is available ????) but I'm not sure how to do this, Sky Tech support came to the conclusion the router was knackered and are apparently sending me a replacment router out but I'd like to know what could have gone wrong. Any ideas ?
