You need to get your user and pass out of the Sky router and try a another one. There are plenty of threads here on how to do it depending on which Sky router you have.

I think he's tried that mate (post 12), its a tricky one this as most of the usual culprits have been tried. Despite Toms advice I think it may need a call to Sky.

How the hell did I miss that one I've been keeping an eye on this post. Must be distracted because Liverpool just stuffed the Mancs 4-1

Good result that, all the lads and lasses in the office were having a bit of banter about this yesterday. TBH I didnt think they would win but was pleasantly surprised - there will be a few red ( sorry ) faces on monday.

I have to agree, there is not much else that can be tried. The only other thing is if you have a bad batch of filters. If you can try another from somewhere, I assume you still have the BT ones or even borrow one from a next door neighbour. What you can also try is plugging in without a filter. To do this, you will need a cable from a Dialup modem or the cable from your Sky digibox .

If all else fails you will have to phone Sky and I am fairly sure you are going to have a difficult time with them. When you phone, do it late after 10.30 and make sure you are plugged into the Test socket, as you will be asked to do this. If you are not you will have to hang up and go through it all again.

      Re: Positive Assurance Needed.

Hi guys, just wanted to say that its all sorted now. Id like to thank you for all your help and ideas. It seems there was a problem with my exchange. All good now.
It appeared at first to most people that the problem was my end, but fortunately i had many spare bits on hand to test.
I tried my main PC running Windows 7, a laptop running Vista, and a PC running XP. I tried 4 cat5 cables, 3 filters, and fortunately another router.
Have to also say the technical team at Sky were amazing. So helpful. Just spoke to them again (such friendly people its nice), and they have closed the call and pushed my line back up to 16mb as they initially capped it at 8 while investigations were carried out.
So thanks again to everyone here and to Sky.
      Brilliant.
      Darren

Thats good news, glad you got sorted. There have been reports about poor customer service from sky but this shows things are getting better. Just out of interest what speedtest results are you getting now ?
