Are these 2 seperate PCs? If so have you got a number lit up on the router when the ethernet is in?

      Re: Sky wireless/router

Check if your network adapter's drivers have been auto updated recently. MS sometimes put out updates which are unsuitable. If they have been updated, roll back to the previous version. Then go to the manufacturers site, download and install the latest drivers for the adapter. Very often this alone will fix a connection.

If you have recently used a registry cleaner or similar, go here, download and run Winsocket fix.
      Download WinSockFix 1.1.0.13 - WinSockFix - A free Winsock/Tcp repair utility - Softpedia

Sure you will, you will get your PC fixed or use the wireless laptop. Be confident

Let us know what error you are getting if you can't connect with the PC. Also try unplugging the ethernet cable and swapping it round end to end,
