After many many conversations with netgear, sky and xbox i have come to the conclusion that we have to wait again for SKY to fix THEIR system. To quote a polite cs man from sky by the Name of William "we have a problem with our DNS servers in your area which we will look into".
I think they meant to say on the entire network (i live in Berkshire).
      Any way here goes
      Example data

Sky package: ie Max, Base, Connect

      Firewall software: Norton, windows
      Antivirus Software: Norton

      Antispyware software: CC, Adaware etc

      List of problem websites: www.ebay.com
      play.com
      ebay.co.uk
      paypal.com
      wardandpartners.co.uk

To be honest, reading this has reassured me a little: I now know what the problem is - before I found this forum I didn't know if it was my PC, router, adapter, phone line, exchange or Sky's software. Worryingly no-one during my 5-6 calls to Sky has even hinted at this being a potential source of the issues.

I have been promised a call back in 36 hours now (yeah - I know it won't be made!) but at least I am no longer in the dark. On the plus side, on the sites Sky Broadband does work on, it's fast
