      End User Email Quarantined Message

      Anti Spam Best Practice Guidelines for End Users


      Unsolicited commercial email, commonly known as Spam, has evolved from a mere nuisance to individuals, to a serious threat to communication in most companies. As a result, BSkyb has several security controls to mitigate this threat, and will appreciate your support in adhere to the best practice below.


      1) On receiving a spam message do not click on any link or try to unsubscribe to spam email messages. Often this links will subscribe you to more spam.

      2) When surfing the internet, do not list your email address directly onto a web page\newsgroup\forums use an online form that uses a registered alias if that option is available. This is to protect your email address from being gathered for spamming

      3) On receiving a chain letter or other spam that encourage you to send/forward or continue the chain email to others, do not reciprocate

      4) When sending email messages to a large number of recipient, use the blind carbon copy (BCC), do not use the To or CC field

      5) Before providing your email address online, do the following:- check if your email address will be shared with third parties and read online web site privacy policies.

      In addition to the above, you are receiving this notification as an email recently sent to you has been ‘Quarantined’.

      If you wish to release the message, please click on the link below following the on-screen instructions.

      In order to protect SKY from viruses and other sources of malicious system attack, we would like to remind you of your responsibilities:

      1. A message MUST be released ONLY where you believe, or are confident, that the originators email address is legitimate or known to you.

      2. Please examine the Multiple Recipients column. Additional care MUST be taken where there are multiple recipients – indicated by the letter Y. Releasing an email of this type will result in the message being released to ALL multiple recipients.

      You may have additional messages that were quarantined before this notification was issued.

      If any messages in this notification are deleted or released before you view the list, then those messages do not appear in the list.

      As you are not with Sky, it seems strange they should be offering you advice on how to handle your mail. Have you had a look at the headers on the email to see if it actually came from Sky?

      i was with sky, and still use the e-mails, although this came to a sub e-mail, and none of the others

      ive just checked the main e-mail, and no skyspam, but 96 spam messages

      I believe that this is an internal email from Sky, sent to Sky staff. Somehow, it has been sent to you for some reason.
